Welcome to the Exoplanet Group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at SF State. We are part of the California Planet Search team, which includes scientists at UC Berkeley, the University of Hawaii, Cornell University, Tennessee State University, the Space Telescope Science Institute and Uppsala University in Sweden.
The primary focus of our research is the detection of planets orbiting nearby stars using the Doppler technique. We are also involved in planet detection projects involving astrometry and ground and space-based transit observations as well as research to understand characteristics (such as chemical composition and chromospheric activity) in planet-hosting stars.
